Thanos Makris is an electrical and electronic engineer. He has worked as a software engineer in various projects, including an application for the Public Power Corporation for analysis of electrical power distribution networks and estimation of costs and benefits of modifications on existing networks. Currently he works for Archon CNC and Robotics as software and hardware engineer, having worked on projects with various customers like University of Patras, Hellenic Open University, Hellenic Air Force, Hellenic Army and various industrial customers.
Currently, Archon CNC and Robotics is focused on green technologies. This includes the development of an electric tricycle for delivery of small cargoes within cities. Also in development is a system for gathering solar energy and converting part of it into electrical energy, while the rest can be used for heating. The system can also use some of the produced energy for cooling, or it can work in reverse to produce heating or cooling from electrical energy when needed, practically covering completely the energy needs of a house throughout the year.
He graduated from the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Technology of the University of Patras.
