Nikos Damatis is a Production & Management Engineer, holder of a MSc degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering by Warwick University (UK), and a Chartered Engineer. He is Member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
He has acquired cross-functional bioenergy knowledge and experience at various degrees of responsibility in the installation and operation of processing plants in the waste and biomass byproducts’ industry for the production of solid biofuel pellets and briquettes, pelleted feed and granulated organic fertilizers. He is currently Development Manager at ITA Group, undertaking business development feasibility analysis and planning of renewable energy projects with an emphasis on the bioenergy sector.
In parallel to his professional activities, Nikos Damatis is Secretary General at the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Biomass Association (HellaBiom), a non-profit organisation and one of the earliest renewable energy associations in Greece, member of its European counterpart “Bioenergy Europe”, which promotes sustainable biomass utilisation at regional and national levels to the benefit of the local communities, the environment and the economy.
