Jonathan Walters is an energy economist with 30+ years of experience. He is a Senior Visiting Research Fellow at the Oxford Institute of Energy Studies and a consultant to the World Bank and other international agencies, focusing on energy transitions. Mr. Walters was formerly a director in the World Bank and his responsibilities included energy policies and projects in Europe and Central Asia and the Middle East and North Africa. He has also worked in East Asia, South Asia, and sub-Saharan Africa. Mr. Walters has worked on most segments of the energy sector.
Mr. Walters is currently working on various energy and climate change-related assignments, including advising on options for a post-lignite era in Greece (a project with the Government of Greece, regional government of Western Macedonia, World Bank, and the European Commission).
Mr. Walters is a graduate of the Universities of Oxford and London.
