George Kapantaidakis

George Kapantaidakis is Public Affairs Manager in CEFIC, the European Chemical Industry Council, which represents about 29000 chemical companies across Europe, with a workforce of 1.2 million people and with an annual turnover of half a trillion €.

He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and he was a Marie-Curie, Post-Doc Research Fellow, in the University of Twente, The Netherlands.

Before joining CEFIC, he was the Chair of the Competitiveness and Growth Working Party of the Council during the Greek Presidency (2014) and the Vice-Chair of the same Working Party during the Cyprus Presidency (2012) of the Council of the EU.

He has served for 5 years in the Greek Permanent Representation to the EU as Counsellor for Industrial Policy, Competitiveness and Internal Market and he has also served for 5 years as Scientific Advisor to the General Secretariat for Industry, Greece.
